Nigel GordijkCommon Sense Design is a one-person design firm founded by British-born Nigel Gordijk in 2003. With a B.A. (Hons) in Graphic Design, he is an independent Web design consultant with many years of experience. He produces successful Web sites that are logical, easy to use and visually engaging.

Common Sense's client list includes:

  • BP International Ltd
  • Honda
  • Royal Shakespeare Company
  • 10 Downing Street (UK Prime Minister's office)
  • BT (British Telecom)

As well as large corporate organisations, Nigel has helped hundreds of small firms and startups for nearly two decades. This experience - as well as his own experience of running a small company - enables him to provide an attentive and personalised service to his clients.

Nigel is one of the co-founders of Creative Latitude, a worldwide network of creative professionals that promotes ethical business practices within the design industry. He devised its name and created the organisation's Web site.

He has contributed essays about Web design to Ecademy, Webreference, CreativePublic, and eGrindstone, and currently writes a blog, The Small Business Toolkit. In 2005, Nigel featured in The Savvy Designer's Guide to Success by American design guru, Jeff Fisher.
